Ivan,

I know there has been much controversy regarding the lines that appear on scabbard fittings for Customs daggers. The old school of thought was that lines running around the entire fitting meant the dagger was a reproduction. We know now not to discount a dagger solely on those grounds as that statement is not entirely true.

With that in mind, I checked my files which had a decent number of Land Customs & Sea Customs daggers manufactured by Horster. There wasn't one example by Horster that had the lines running all the way around the scabbard fittings. I eagerly await the opinion of some of our sage members on this piece's chances.

I dont want to write certain details to avoid that fakers might improve their fakes. But this water custom dagger here is very clunky and the grooves (yes, there are grooves that ran around even on period examples) are very misshappened.
I would not want it in my personal collection.
