I left the show with the fewest number of purchases and the most money in my wallet since I first started going.

That being said, I met with great people, some for the first time, drank a lot of beer and had a great time.

It was my first SOS, I've been to the max....it was a good experience and I learned a lot...always like meeting new people...spent about what I thought I would, very similar to the max in my opinion...and having the max in my backyard is (selfish moment here) just awesome, wish it would stay - it's just kind of a fun place with a good history and good food.

Sales were below expectation again this year. Smaller items less than $500 sold well. No large purchases from me. I did not purchase anything significant this year either. Interest in daggers seems to have slowed except for the exceptional pieces and only if priced right. The weather has really kept some people home due to treacherous driving conditions. Terrible time of the year to have this show IMO and to have it earlier next year seems to me to be going in the wrong direction. I am sure there were good reasons for it however. The organizers did a great job again this year and the extending the set up to include Wednesday evening was a real plus.

This was my best show(in sales) I ever had. Bought a few items, but my big purchase was at the gun show. I hate having the gun show on a different week end.

Hoidal book, last one there. My find of the show, would help if I knew german, but love it nonetheless...first impressions so far-- nazischwien and propaganda ministry...these are great tags. Thanks for the heads up Gaspare.
Hope you all found your treasures, God bless
Mike

I did quite well at SOS. I picked up some nice German Police stuff along with some US Civil War edged weapons. I did OK in sales too as I did not have any real high priced stuff to sell this year. Many Russians with much cash money were not in evidence but people were buying at my table.

Some photos of some of the swag that I picked up. I got two P.38 Polizei rigs... one a byf44 E/F and the other a Volkspolizei rework of an ac45. The US edged weapons are a CW period Schuler Hartley & Graham 1860 Staff & Field sword and an Ancient & Honorable Artillery Company saber. The bayonets are a US M1816 and a M1834 both with the 1839 pattern scabbards.
