Ivan's right, that is a fantastic Eickhorn. It found a new home in a stellar Heer collection, congrats!

OK Heer lovers.... BEHOLD!! This is a stunningly RARE Heer!! This very well may be the only Ivory gripped ALUMINUM fitted Eickhorn in the WORLD!!! Fascinating piece Tom, with an amazingly well preserved grip! Look at those bands on that aluminum scabbard..very much like the initial production bands, but not quite! Molded just for these rare pieces! Super looking type 1 Eick eagle with a well defined eye.. Just history in the making! Who knew this combination of fittings even existed..Stellar Heer Tom! Congrats! Kevin.
It's ALL in the DETAILS!!.......

Thanks allot guys really was pleased when it showed up as it was bought upon reviewing a bunch of blurry pictures the seller provided. The seller was not a military collector he had acquired the dagger 25 years ago and it was stored in a trunk for that long he could not remember the details of how he acquired it. Gary won’t be bringing it to the show I’m afraid you or John Z will get me liquored up and try and buy it.

Darn it, Gary, you have revealed our dastardly plan... I know that Tom is a sucker for Kentucky Ale!

Tom
You have John and I all wrong, there's no way we would get you liquored up, you can do that all by yourself, I might be pouring the drinks mind you, then we would have it away, it would be gone before you know it.
Shame as I'd love to see it. See you there.
Cheers
Gary

An old thread but with a spectacular ivory grip ... and an all aluminum dagger.
