I picked this up from the vets family. They said it was brought back from the islands after ww2. The grips were a little loose and had tape on them. I removed the tape and remaining glue. They are made from bone and each grip plate has writing on it. Between the grips and tang were what looked like shims.
When I took everything apart I looked at the "shims" real close. It looks like skin..
What do you think.
Can anyone translate the writing.
