Another update, now at 725 armbands. Thanks to a couple of our members who sent photos of some rare veteran armbands from their collection, and a special thanks to members of the Kyffhuserbund e.V. who sent photos of some rare higher rank armbands from their archive! They visited the site and offered to help fill some of the gaps in the gallery. Hopefully, more to come!

Very cool seeing all the NSRKB, NSKOV and Kyffhauserbund armbands. Probably the biggest online database of them. Didn't think I would see most of them

Another update of over 40 armbands related to the Judenlaw, ghettos, and camps. I thought about this one for a while due to both the sensitivity of the subject and the rarity of the items. Around 99% of the armbands seen on the internet are fakes. A friend who works at the National Holocaust Museum convinced me that this would help collectors dodge the fakes, so it's up now. Because most of these armbands are handmade, each is a unique piece. If you find one offered for sale, it is probably a fake wink All of the armbands shown have been authenticated by the Museum as original period armbands.

Vern,,some corrections for the reference:

this SS..Only originals of this were printed,,and I've never seen one on a armband, possible,,but they were usually sewn right on the arm..
This is a product of CIA auction in Indiana. They made plenty of these, banners, armbands etc. I Have a SS command pennant somewhere. I'll did it out to post.
All have the same type stitching and material,,kind of like a cotton canvas type on some.. I'd say this is 99% bad..

these holocaust. These 2 are 100% bad. IF I still had my 'Counterfeiting the Holocaust' book it would show them and even the ink stamps. Believe it or not these are from CIA too. He made a lot of product!!

The striped P armband,,is a reunion piece. You'll see them sometimes in postwar reunion shots..

There are a few other I'm not comfortable with but I need more evidence to call them out..

On holocaust bands,,most are bad. Any of the burlap backed and heavy zigzag stitching are bad,,anything to complicated are bad.
Camp Kapo band or other camp band would be very hard to find a survivor. A Ghetto band I say 99% are bad..

seems like eBay has a 5 part thing on fake holocaust armbands..
Much of the info [really all] seems to be from the book C.t H. mentioned above. IF your even thinking on collecting holocaust items this book is a MUST find!

Thanks! I'll make the corrections. Most of the Holocaust armband photos came from the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC. A friend of mine works there and provided the photos and a lot of information.

Vern, the DC museum is a great place no doubt. But over the years they have had some problems with authenticating items.. It is just now they seem to have things going pretty well.

The books author was an employee of the museum years ago. He left and his work is unparalleled in the fake holocaust industry. The book is old now but still a must if you want to venture even close to this area of collecting!

2nd photo. In a dusty corner of my old shop this SS command flag still is there! Same runes, stitching, material as the armband.. Many got burned on his pieces...

Thanks again. I haven't forgotten this, I'm just busy with a few other things. I knew the museum had some problems but they have been working through their collection. Part of their problem was accepting the information that came with donated items. Kind of like the vet purchased B&A dagger that was taken from a captured General wink
