Hello gents. Here is my dress bayonet with stag horn imitation grip plates. The bayo has plated handle but unplated blade. What could you tell me about this parts combination? Is it OK? Thanks.

That is one type I have yet to add too my collection is a imitation stag bayonet, I have a Half dozen stag or so and one like that would be nice to add to the mix.
It's been awhile since I've add a new one. Thanks for showing Steve,

I think this combination is OK. The use of old NOS parts in the latter stages of the war, and at other times, was common.

Thank you for your replies, gents! So, you mean that some makers was manufacturing their bays with unplated blade in the late WWII period?

Yes, and they were also using unplated hilts as well. They simply polished the fittings when plating was no longer an option.
