Just picked up these 2 flags, the first is a trumpet or drum type flag I believe? The sigrune is sewn on and one sided. has heavy cotton fringe. measure ~ 19x20 with fringe. Also has 4 tie cords.

Second has metallic fringe on one end no ties. Sigrune sewn on both sides. measures ~17x18. not sure what this one is for?

Would love your thoughts, good bad, information on use etc.

thanks

James

Hi James,

They appear to be DJ trumpet banners. Not big on the construction materials used on the first example, but I'll let others chime in!

James. The heavy cotton fringe on the first kills it for me. The 2nd the rune looks malformed or maybe the way its folded.[?]

In the mid 1990s there ws a auctioneer having items made up in Latvia. CIA auctions [Central Indiana Auctions]. One of their specialties was SS runic flags and similar. They were a heavy cotton duck material, Sometimes the white did not glow and the fringe was always wrong. Hate to say it but both really look like these pieces. I would at least start/check the white for glow even though their early pieces didn't. Also check a few threads for synthetic material.. Really hope I'm wrong on them!

Thanks everyone, I think you are all correct and that they are most likely bad. Gaspare, they both passed the Black light test, I am going to do a burn test on the threads, but it was my gut feelings they where bad, and you all have confirmed my fears. Good news came in a lot with a spiked helmet I wanted, so not out much. Most likely will bring them to SOS and sell as repo's if anyone wants them.

thanks

James
