Could you give us some more photos. We need the cross guard detail and a close up of the scabbard insignia. also, any markings on the blade?

hi Jim,,,sorry this is all the pics the seller has sent,but they said it was Imperial German,whereas I guess it is British,,,Thanks,,,Robert

Not a German sword but an Austro-Hungarian Civil Service sword. Worn by State Officials (Beamte) and not the military. There are several varieties with slight differences depending upon the official.
