Hi Fred I also have a blued one. The weapon number is higher than on the "white" one but is it a sign it is later. I think as you when you say the first "narrow blades were in the "white". Regards Alain

Here is an EICKHORN walk out dress bayonet with factory etched pommel. There were several kinds of emblems offered. Originals of these bayonets with pommel etching are extremely rare as 90% of These around (and they are rarely around) are faked ones with engraved and not etched/nickled emblems. Sorry for the bad pics, These shiny things are difficult to be photographed for me. Regards,

You are right about these.. most of these pommel etches are like $3 bills.

Such a real full group you will not see too often. Did come out of the family of the late wearer. Please apologize that I do omit the name. Wearer has been leader of the postal protection / air protection section. Blade of the bayonet is proper marked D.R. and #. There are several other papers with this group. Please forgive my unskilled photographic tries. Regards,

Wotan,
I presume you mean your KS98 is marked "DRP #" for Postschutz rather than "D.R. #" for Deutsche Reichsbahn. A nice grouping!

Sorry for delay, ORPO, yes you are totally right, DRP and number below. It is the more rare ALCOSO bajonet, not a WEYERSBERG, which are a little more "common" (in this case you cannot speak of "common" in a serious way). Regards, wotan.

Perhaps not that rare, but I have not seen another.
Kiesling describes it as erstz, manufactured in 1915 in small numbers. I found it hiding in west Fort Worth. The blade is about the length of an S14.
It was a blob of rust when I got it. I seriously oiled it to stop the active rust. Of course I would like to have a nicer one, but how many of these are you going to run across?

That is a scarce one Mike. Beggars can't be choosers when it comes to scarcity IMHO. I would be happy to own one in this condition. Nice job of saving it.
