Somehow in the SS Dagger Forum, we got sidetracked on the food served at militaria shows.

http://phpstack-500133-1583587.cloudwaysapps.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=298352#Post298352

This subject needs its own thread. After all, getting a decent meal, or least an edible one should be part of the show experience.

Take pictures of the food and prices and post them here, together with your critical comments!

Thanks, Rick. I think that is the "Meadowlands" show.

I was beginning to think that Lakeside Trader and I were the only hungry people who went to shows

I try not to eat vendor food at most shows as I have been to the hospital once after getting food poisoning at a show and I learned my lesson years ago. I typically try to bring my food in but there are certainly some exceptions like the Kentucky Pork Producers booth at SOS. Great pork tenderloin sandwiches, beans, and potato salad from them! They get a two thumbs up from me for excellent food from their food cart.

When in Louisville for the SOS, the Gasthaus is a sure winner for an authentic German meal. A 20 minute drive and reservations recommended, a meal worth the effort. Not cheap, but a great experience. Having lived in Germany for 3 years I can attest this is not some knock off wiener stand. ****

Gasthaus – 4812 Brownsboro Center - Louisville, KY 40207 – Open: Tues. - Sat. 6:00PM-9:30PM

Right you are Andy. We always eat at the Gasthaus on one night of the show. Reservations are a must as you say.

I only ate at the show once. If you like pre cooked, microwaved cheeseburgers. Then this was your show. The pulled pork didn't look bad and they had salads, but with the hotel restraunt in the same building I ate to go orders from there.
