These are very rare dirks. During this period there were only about 350-400 police officers. After the Communists came to power, many of these officers were killed without trial, others are imprisoned, their property confiscated and their families repatriated. Many Gendarmerie officers and their families have suffered the same fate

There are 3 models police dirks.

The first and third model dirks, Mr. Predov only describes them without documentation and photographs, because most probably many of these dirks, photographs etc, have been confiscated or destroyed also you have to take into consideration that complete entire police archive with orders and decrees etc. in 1944 has been sent to Moscow and after many years very little of this archive has been returned later.

I would like to see more photographs of the different types.

The first model was introduced sometime in 1920-25 judging by the uniforms of the police. Made of captured and discarded French bayonets Gra and probably ordered from Germany part from fire dagger � crossguars, handles and pommels.No master�s mark.

The second model was introduced 1934. No information where it is made, as no master�s Mark. The blade is engraved with the same motives as the army's one. The scabbard is nickel plated and finished with handmade engraving.

The third model is similar to the second, but has a plane blade and scabbard like Labor dirks. Presumably, it is done at the end of the war
