Luca:

I own 8 Puma etches and 2 of them do not have the Ges Gesch marking.

So, I do not think that its absence is a red flag at all.

I like this etch.

Here are my two.

thanks john...very kind as always...i'm having a discussion with some people that say that all the etched bayos(except 4 or 5) are post war made from poland and also that books writers always show other's collecotrs pieces..so are unattendible...i told them that there are the period catalogues that show the existence of these motives but it's useless...they are sure that all is fake :))

While there are some very good fakes coming out of Poland and the Czech republic, the best ones are pretty newly made.

The early fakes from the 50's to the late 80's tend to be easily detected as such in my opinion. The newer fakes are much better.

But, every catalogue that I have and that I have seen from the TR period shows etch bayonets and their various patterns available for purchase from the manufacturer.

Puma is one such.

Actually, it is a good thing if a lot of people stay away from buying etched bayonets... it means better prices for those of us who know they are real.
