I own this NSBO and this luft ring some years and havn`t any doubts in it.
No i baught the ring in the middle very cheap (i watched it over years on a dealers website) and got it today.
After comparing and measuring i can say that the plates have exact the same dimensions and after looking on the signs of the dies i would bet all plates came from the same die and all bands to.
The NSBO one is brass with rests of silver plating, the Luft one is "NEUSILBER", marked so and still a lot of silver plating there. The new one hs no marks, looks like Alpacca and has only rest of silver plating on the backsite of plate and the soldering between plate and band lokks like a repair.
Any opinions?

a lot of collectors will dismiss these ,especially the Police , right away.

Seeing how these are made these are very early rings. Probably pre-war

The NSBO and Luft. are well known period original patterns. Not many have seen the POlice one but it sure follows the method, construction, etc. of the others.

I would have no problem with that Police. And, I'm sure there is a Heer and other patterns..

bringing this to the top... I have these except the Police.

. I've seen in hand the DAF, Long service cross, and HEER... They all seem to used ribbon bar devices but have not been able to find documentation of it... * They were pre war, mass produced, commercially made for retail sale rings..

SO, my comment is,,,this Police could very well be the only mass produced Police ring made during the 3rd eich period! There are articles of the Police coming in to stores and seizing kitsch items [read rings] so ,,,maybe they just weren't made.....

- Not including a custom one off Police ring,,,,,* Does anyone have what they consider a mass produced for retail sales Police ring?, a advert for one? etc.
