This is a nice Imperial sword hanger and under-the-tunic belt. I have seen a photo in Wittmann's book of an Artillery Officer with white leather and double lion head similar to this, so I presume it is Artillery...but can anyone tell me more? Why apparant Naval lion's heads for Artillery? When was white worn?
There is a stamp on the belt that could be 'Se...', but I cannot make it out and my photo is not clear enough...again any help appreciated.

I cannot answer all your questions, especially not the one concerning the white color (often white color was used on parade). But in general, these lionheads hangers are not attributed to the navy. Navy hangers did have the double whipcord hangers (only with clips, without any buckle). Such lionheads hangers were worn up into the III.R. eg. by army branches, there are period wearing pics. Why lionheads for artillery (or other branches)? Why not?

Thanks for your thoughts. I had this displayed on an Infantry Officers Degen so I'll move it over onto an Artillery sword.
