I liked this badge and thought it looked neat!
Is it german? Meaning of snakes etc!
Can you make out what it says?

Paul, Yes, definitely German. "Viel Feinde - Viel Ehr" translates to "many enemies, much honor." Kriegshülfe Elberfeld means war-aid (either financial or other means) to the city of Elberfeld. I'd imagine the poisonous serpents represent Germany's many enemies during the course of the war. Very nice! Bill
