I made a mistake, the scabbard is not proper here, is from other bayonet scabbard.Bayonet is ok and should be with P.Weyersberg scabbard and same number serialed.

Nice bayonet. I believe this is from the second contract of bayonets Weyersberg made for the Police.
The earlier ones tend to have the smaller Police Eagle|B marking in the muzzle ring contour. They will also
usually be marked with Weyersberg's commercial address of "Paul Weyersberg & Co|Solingen". The second
contract dates from 1940 and typically has the "military" "P. Weyersberg" address and later Police Eagle|B
stamped on the blade spine. In addition, the scabbards are often marked "P. Weyersberg|1940". The low issue
number of "19" also supports this.

What is the estimated quantity of the second contract?

I just picked up number 302 and saw number 196 at the same show.

Thanks, Lance

I personally would not call it as second contract, more real a police contract with Wehrmacht production variatiom of maker mark "P.Weyersberg" with a police Eagle/B proof located on spine of blade, the highest reported number is 9735.
