It looks to be an 1832 Artillery sword with a funny nut on top of the grip and a crap blade. Every one I have seen conforms to a grip without the funny nut and very well manufactured and marked blades.

Frankly, after looking at the reproductions offered on Ebay, I am not sure if it is good enough to be a repro.

But, it could be some rare version. I think you should wait for the US collectors here to comment.

It is a cast hilt reproduction. The original US Artillery short sword had three steel rivets in the grip through the tang that was peened to the pommel where this odd top is. The blade also had three fullers instead of one like this one.

I am late to the party but my vote is reproduction as well. The blade is wrong, the eagle on the pommel is mushy and the top nut thing is just odd.
