Hi All:

Some of you may have seen the partial ground SS-Ehrendolch recently sold on the website of Ulric-of-England. It was numbered to SS-Hauptsturmführer Ludwig Deeg, SS Nr. 1403 who was a nazi that could follow directions. He was a WW I vet who joined the SS in 1928. He died in 1942. Nice that his records show that he received the SS-Ehrendolch and that his photo was still attached to his NSDAP membership file card. You can see more about the dagger at:

I am now this daggers keeper and very pleased to find out its primary owners name.I searched the world looking at SS daggers and increased my budget serveral times,but as soon as I saw this on Ulric of England's site I just had to have it.It has a real been there look and feel and covered in the sort of history I look for.Thank you Ross for giving me a name to start with.I had found your site and I was going to look into getting you to reseach it,if you can help further please contact me.I will post photos as soon,the one you posted was the one that caught my eye.

Yes Doug, his SS number was very low.
Apparently his Party membership number wasn't.
