Never seen till this one.
In this Quality made?
I bet this is a postwar Fantasy.

Yes, the first one looks horrible to me and the second looks like a cast ring in very low quality.
For sure i don´t like both.

Most certainly a modern piece, the engraving on the inner band is cast which was not a preferred method..

As for this being based on a real ring, I'll leave that to G! But to me it looks to mystical and fantasised for anything in that era.

"All things old become new again"

Don't know who to quote on that......

E. , is of course correct..

Both these rings are old fantasy rings... There is even a SS version. They have appeared here before. Maybe they got deleted with the 100s of pages we lost. The SA ring with enamel is featured with the SS version in Charlie Snyders 3rd reich silver book crazy.

Both patterns interesting and nice looking but 4th reich products....

Then in the members benefit and for future reference better to post all the pics available.

....and just to credit the actual owner, enameled pattern is shown by Craig Gottlieb site.

Could I forget CG's description ? Here you go :

"This extraordinary ring is a one-of-a-kind ring that has resided in a German collection for the past 30 years. The historical importance of this piece cannot be understated. The ring is a simple wedding-band type ring that features the SA Motto "Alles Für Deutschland" surrounded by raised oak leaves. The ring shows wear at the six-o'clock position, where a very faint seam is visible where the ring was assembled (after the fashion of the Otto Gahr SS Totenkopf Ring). The front of the ring features a red enameled SA rune circle. The interior of this ring features a dedication by Ernst Rohm, very similar to the dedication found on the Presentation daggers that he bestowed upon SA and SS members. The box is custom fit for this ring, and features a raised red area upon which the ring sits. The lid is lined with white silk, and the box features a black leather exterior and "Knight's Cross" style push-button. Absolutely NO information exists surrounding the purpose or origin of this ring. However, it is easy to speculate that it was similar in purpose to rings given by Heinrich Himmler for Christmas 1933. Of course, it could not have been given past the Night of the Long Knives, when Rohm was arrested and executed for treason. A very valuable artifact from the earlier period of the NSDAP"

Thanks Ric for nice pics.

Either this Gottlieb is stupid or he is a cheater.
I think the second.

hee hee. wink.

What gets most is the quality. They were very well made and meant to deceive [make money].

Ok , surprised as Craig is usually well read. This ring and the SS pattern has appeared here before,,also they were in Snyders book. ALL fantasy rings...Anyone know Craig? please inform him..

I like the box. grin But that ring is a no no. I'm also surprised but maybe CG has a good reason and can explain why he believes it to be period? And what he actually means by this statement? "(after the fashion of the Otto Gahr SS Totenkopf Ring)."
