I was looking at Ed Sundays Robt Klass army dagger at Roberts
Center Nov 1.

Ed always has nice condition items!

Lights really played havoc with getting the pics to show
but thats how it goes!

My question to you army dagger collectors and Robt Klass
collectors! I wondered if the color handles seen are varied!

I almost always see them white!

Anyone know why?

Of course the black on railroad but was just wondering!

I see TW has orange colored one!

Feel free to show some!

PV of course the early Klaas daggers you always see the yellowish-orange handles. Klaas certainly made one of the most interesting early army daggers and they are tuff to find! Here are mine – I don’t have any detailed shots of any in the group but that’s on my future agenda.

And what a Klaas it is super rare crossguard and maker mark variation. Janos does the blade have a tapered tang?

Tom,
I suppose it has a tapered tang, but I can't say it for sure, because the pommel stuck to the tang - I can't take it apart.

I don't want to force it.

Indeed an unusual Klaas Janos! Real beauty with rare hilt fittings, that pommel is a strange beast, I think I have seen one like it on an initial Wingen one time? Scabbard is very unique too, don't think I've seen one like it. Like to see another like it if it exists?? Kevin.

THANKS Oli, both beauties, second guard shown is almost identicle to my example. Mine has a scabbard with a thicker/wider tip than most others, does either of yours? Kevin.
