Im looking for any information at all ref the attached. My feeling is for an early miners sword portepee due to the twin black/white stripes on the strap and the black/white curly stuffing to the oval shaped ball. can anyone be more positive??
Thanks guys
Paul

Paul,

I've never seen one a Miner's sword knot in person but I think that's exactly what you have. A very nice looking & scarce accouterment, my friend. You sure can pick 'em, can't you?

Here is my Miner sword and Portepee. Yours appears to have the same color combination in a different format.

Paul,

I was just this morning perusing one of Angolia's old books & saw a picture of a Bergbau sword with knot. That knot had the same format as George's with the different stem. Yours still looks period & very nice indeed as well, I think we both love obscure accouterments.

George,

Really great looking sword & knot!
