Yes, a rally pennant. These were attached to the vehicles that were participating in the rally to identify them. Too bad it is not dated but a nice old timey automobile shown on it.

Here are a couple of similar ones for Police Motor Vehicle Rallys in the 1930s.

I like the braunschweig one. I remember an armband that was named to a steel factory there on ebay that sold for $103 with 2 other armbands! They were from a vet group and regret missing them. I never got to save the pictures to help with the guide either..... frown

The armband was white with the maker of Braunsweig Stahl werk or something along those lines for steel work. Not sure if that is proper german or not but oh well :p . It was also with one of those In Service of the German Army white armbands and a werkschutz armband with the white W and red body. He also sold a luftschutz senior officer with a specialty patch for a medic for $80 in a different lot. I still don't know why the group of 3 with 1 possibly 1 of a kind and 1 hard to come across sold so cheap... I wonder what it was for though? Administration or a worker or a werkschutz/werkluftschutz.....

We will never know without the photos and a period photo I guess. I asked the seller for the photos or if they still had them but they didn't reply....

Here was the listing. You can kinda make them out from the small photos under where the main photos would be.... not much of a help but to show kinda what it looked like...

Ahh..thanks Denny..I was getting tired holding my monitor upside down!! smile

That first word 'werkschuss' gives us an indication that the armband was worn by members of the factory worker's committee ( no unions of course) so possibly a liason with the NSBO/DAF - depending on the period - and district party members.

Management had direct lines to the party itself.

Thanks Denny! Doug, are you sure it says werkschuss? I see werkschutz. The last to letters are a t and a z

Well I didn't win. Let it by 2 times now! Sold for $20 more than last time too. I guess whoever bought it will be getting a message for an offer from me when they leave feedback lol. Still sold for pretty cheap for 3 bands with 2 worth keeping that aren't common (sold for $127.50)
