First of all, the picture of the knife with the soldier holding a survival machete is not the same knife as you show.
I cannot comment on that one, but I can say that the survival machetes that I know are real are all made by Alcoso.
Here are pics of mine.. ACS and AWS maker marks.

That other knife is British forces issue. The arrow seen in the closeups is a British forces issue mark

John thank you for the pictures of your machete's, they are very nice and in very good condition! I know the first picture isn't like the one I showed...that was the question the owner claimed it was for the luftwaffe observers... @ Paul and DaveHohaus: thank you for the info...British machete (the arrow) NO luftwaffe ... only Alcoso

That's a nice machete John. John,is it possible that I have seen Eickhorn long time ago. It was I think stamped over the shoulder.

Thanks, guys.
Stingray, I believe that only Alcoso produced these survival machetes.
Here are shots of my AWS marked machete.

A very nice example. It is interesting that these appear made in a variety of materials from Alcoso. Some have brass hilts while some have steel.

John & Paul,
Really beautiful examples of an exceedingly tough to find item. The majority I've seen were beaten up pretty well.

There was a real good thread on these a while back. Someone took their scabbard apart and found that some of these are inspection stamped on the runners. Not suggesting that anyone do exploratory surgery but just mention it for interest sake.
