Wow, Paul! Which auction? Will be gone for a week and will try to post pics when I get back. These appear to be very, very strong "excellent" or better. Thanks for the replies.

The waffen ss officers sold at auction was, I believe, a late war General's rank....
I think the estimates from Ryan on officer Allg-ss caps is on the low side...if there are any minty examples in that price region available for sale I'd love to know as I have been looking

Hi Jonathan, he said "nice" not mint...lol...in my vocabulary nice usually means excellent, showing some wear or slight moth etc...:) a mint anything is always going to command a higher price. My estimates are based on dealer's sites here and abroad. I purchased my very nice waffen SS visor three years ago from a well known high end dealer for $10,500 I purchased another a year earlier in lesser condition missing an eagle for $3500!!! from a dealer in Europe. My very nice NCO Waffen SS visor was $5200...both are pictured on this site. I have still seen decent Allgemeine NCO visors priced at $4000 (more realistic than $6000) Bruce Hermann and Martin Stiles often have decent examples of Allgemeine officer's visors. I concur that a truly "mint" Allgemeine visor would command a price between $15,000 and $18,000....but it would have to be pretty special cheers to all

John Pepara wanted 13K for very nice A-SS Officer visor hats and they sold very, very slowly for that price. "Mint" from a high end dealer would be in the range Ryan mentioned, from a small guy at a show substantially less. Crazy world we live in! Bob

Hi Jonathan, I have seen many of John Pepara's Allgemeine officer visors and they were in super condition. Dave mentions that this collection is to be auctioned by Hermann Historica. I would contact the auctioneer to determine when the auction is to occur. You stand a good chance of obtaining a great officer's visor at a fair price. Regards, Ryan
