Never thought I'd find another one of these especially not in this condition, probably the best of the four I have, came with the forestry knot, not sure if it is original to the piece or was added, I know it isn't regulation but who knows for sure.

A wonderful 1711 in extremely admirable condition. Love that frosted silvering/black patinated look.
I think to remember that I do own a "wearing..." photograph in which a DJ daggers is worn with a forest portepee.

Thanks guys, I do appreciate all the nice comments.

Wotan, I'd love to see that photograph if you can dig it out.

I now own 1500 to 1700 (I did not count them) "waering.." photographs but if I come across I will show it to you.

Gary,

What differentiates them? Maker mark?

And poor little me only has one.

Hi John
I collect them because I love them and for no other reason, there are some variances with some of the 1711's, the size of the pommel and ferrel do vary and I know of at least 2 different sizes to take into account the size of the grip, there are also two different maker marks known to date

http://phpstack-500133-1583587.cloudwaysapps.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=91898&page=1

the pommel nut can also vary in shape all during the period, that's about all I have noticed, I've owned 7 of these and I wish I had kept them all.

Never enough of these babies though.

Cheers

Gary,

I got it...good thing I collect these things by blade variation.

I guess that there should be an over shoulder mark found one since we do see some of the other Eickhorn models with that mark.
