Will be placing pics from Max in many spots! But I took plenty of pics and want to thank many members who were willing to share goodies with members not at show! The show was full of great stuff to see and members to meet and talk and share the hobby! I ran late due to car problems and didn't make it tll 3pm wed! But I heard they let the guys deal on drop off and it was off and running with stop flying out the door! Some friends told me they sold so much that they were out by show opening! I bet lots of room dealing and private stuff before show! I heard some complain it was slow or couldn't find anything,or stuff was too high! Bull crackers! Oh stuff was high! Really!!! Depends who is selling it! If its not yours its too high! If its yours you priced a wound badge like a knights cross! I took pics and trust me so much stuff it made your eyes pop! Quality of daggers was superb! Edge weapons are sure sought after! Which is good! I thought visors and uniforms very slow! Helmets also! A show like this has so much for collectors and dealers that it could seem slow! My god edge weapons were available in staggering amounts with condition really high! So today I will post what seems like alot but was a small fraction of total show! The Toms did a great job and I hope this little peek into the mighty Max show 2013 makes you want to come 2014. As always thanks to many I talked to and hope they share pics also! Big shout out to the guys who make this a special show whether you looked for wound badges or Chained SS daggers!!! I heard many of you got the good stuff! I will name the names if you don't show us! I kept my ear to z wall and heard what you got! Pics Ryan Sellick and friend! My friend Andy! AKA Military Nut!
What a book of knowledge he is! He agreed to share with collectors!
As with collectors and dealers who have shared I thank them and suggest you contact them when looking for a item!
You can buy from them or ask for help as they serve the collectors comunity well!
I also ask that when you think prices might be high that collectors and dealers drop about 1,000.00 in expenses to come!
Tables, food, gas, hotel and it sure adds up! I know it costs as before you lay out 1 item thats what your costs are!
Not counting the thieves looking to snag something free!
So keep this in mind as some folks might forget!
Ok back to showing!
Ol Andy has some goodies! Honor rings! yup! He didn't need to write a book and hog up the spotlight like some bigshot!
This man is soft spoken and lets his reputation speak for its self!
Can't go wrong with Andy and his wife! Good people folks!

I am excited to take pics but sorry as lights do take a way from the beauty of such a item!
I hope Andy see's this and tells us about it and the SS rings!
After show he was heading to Flordia! I want to know more ol buddy!

So you see these are just a few people set up out of the show!
The show had so much quality stuff and of course lesser items but it does make you think WOW!!
So I really don't want to hear I couldn't find anything,or blah blah blah!
The stuff was here but maybe it was priced more than you wanted to spend!
Oh I didn't buy anything or such bull crackers as nothing to buy!
Oh there was fakes and so on! It was here!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't knock the show or others because you couldn't load up your van with collectors stuff and make money!
It was slow! Well with all the stuff here its a surprise anymoney is left!
You get the idea that stuff is around!
And most of us would not be giving anything away! Its a heck of a show and its like being in disney land!
Thats just my thoughts!

As always a big thanks to the Toms for all the work and things they do for hobby! So many of the other big guys don't step up like them and the hobby is worse off because of it! Class is what they bring! Thank a Tom for the great hobby we have! I wonder who is going to carry on this hobby as well as they have! So the haters can nit pick things on the show and and others because they aren't a guru! Many thanks to those that share and give! So many nice good people! Who else took pics? I went to Ed Sunday and was going to take pics of his many great SA daggers that were mint! He always has good stuff! But I ran out of room on my camera! What a shame! he has some nice stuff! And Bob C nice stuff you had and glad your feeling better! I am out for now! PVON

Paul great seeing you at the Max, in the "olden" days many would step up and post from the Max and SOS. Now it seems we all rely upon you to supply us with memories and eye candy for those that couldn't make it. Thanks Paul, it is appreciated, Ryan

Kevin; I have had a similar set, but mine had gilted fittings. If you have it see Fred Stephens book, Daggers Swords & Bayonets of the Third Reich. Page 175 shows my set displayed with a Water Customs dagger. I think possibly dress hangers for high rank RLB, but just a guess.

Thanks Pvon and good talking with you in person and appreciate the photos. Show was good for me and almost never got away from the table. Foreign daggers (Japanese, Chinese, Thailand, Hungarian, and Italian) sold very well. Also sold more Red Cross Leaders (3) and EMs than ever before, GO FIGURE!!

It was a great show. I was so busy selling that I didn't have a chance to walk the whole show. Later, I heard from a couple of collectors who said they sold everything out they brought. They informed me the items were priced to sell.
True the attendance was less then in years past, however those that came, and came early, found they could load up on some well priced militaria from many collector/dealer types.
