From the is not possible to see that one connector of the chain is missing...is possible to find a m33 dagger in a chained scabbard? And the 2 screws on the central fitting woudn t be found on anodized scabbards? Thanks

I have some doubts on runes button and the shape of the angular part of the grip(seems too big: more eickhorn than boker)...the eagle insigna seems aluminium and not nickel, the mottoseems reblued and one skull of the connectors doesn t have good details... the scabbard repainted...too many red flags...do you agree?

Bokers originally came with very dark backgrounds to the etch, as seen here. I originally thought the scabbard could be a repaint, but don't think so after expanding the photo showing the front of the chain and part of the scabbard. Could be a period paint job. Hard to tell. I think the grip insignia and chain questions could be due to the bright light or flash used to take the photo. Having a maker-marked dagger in a chained scabbard is perfectly alright and accepted by most collectors as being of the period. The scabbard could be sold separately and was. The portepee is in the regulation SS tie. Two screws holding the center band on so-called anodized scabbards is the norm, although exceptions have been observed. Two screws on a scabbard with original paint are seldom seen, but they do pop up once in a great while. i see no district stamp on the reverse guard, which could be washed out by the light. It is rare, but not unheard of, for no district mark to be present. The upper guard looks as if it could be the plated type, but, again, inconclusive. There does appear to be discoloration under the portepee on the lower guard, a good sign. I would want a hands-on exam before closing a sale.

My thoughts on the scabbard was that it was originally anodised and painted over , which would explain the 2 screws . I think better pictures are needed to say much more . JMO

Parts dagger IMO the crossguards are plated which should be nickel..Im not comfortable at all with the grip itself as the upper triangle area is very large with the runes button sitting in the middle of it. If the dagger is early then it should show some signs of wear on the black which i see none or is it the lighting?...regardless,,here is photo posted below of the difference in a Boker grip upper triangle.
I do see a few pimples in the motto which is common for a Boker blade smile
