I figure that since the one on WAF was successful that I would start one here. Any armband from any branch/organization of the TR can be posted. I'll start with my few armbands.... The same armband can be posted as many times as someone has it and make sure it is authentic.... Civilian in service.....  Early NSDAP..... Looks to be uniform removed because of the stitching still there from the uniform...  Printed NSDAP....  DRK that is named.....  Wool NSDAP.....  Traffic Director....  Decontamination Service of the RLB......  Medic

This NSDAP armband came in a bunch of vet-stuff about a year ago.
It has the typical red cotton sleeve band but the circle and swaz are leather!
Any ideas if this is for some special purpose or just a manufacturers variation?
Appreciate any thoughts.

I think it is a salesman sample because for the way the ends are. They are sewn in in a strange way that looks like it could be attached to a board. I just got 2 more like it and I'll try to post them later today or tomorrow and show the strange stitching....

Not an expert on German order of battle, but I think the "408" on your green Luftshutz "L" armband may designate the 408th Division z.b.V (Landesschutzen) in the Wehrkreis of Breslau.

Never seen one that is green before. Do you have a photo? Sounds interesting. I haven't seen a photo of the RLB 2 in wear but I have many photos of the RLB 1 in leader and regular. I attached two with both in wear....

That reminds me of my newest one and probably last one for a while! A nice customs administration armband.... The shield is gold just that the glare of the snow is most likely making it silver looking. The shield is actually much larger than I expected! It is the size of a Krim shield.....

Alright Kyle,
Photo of the only one I have. An Imperial German Hunting Club armband. The metal insignia is gold guilted brass with polished highlights. Photos don't do it justice.

Just an amazing armband even though that I don't collect imperial armbands! Much higher quality than the customs armband due to the fact that it is aluminum that is painted gold. The detail is perfect on yours. What material is the band made of?

no photos.. Saw it while visiting a friend out of town,,in an 'antique store'. I've seen the standard yellow ones a hundred times,this looked fine,,except had green band. Should have just gave him the $100.!  No one has a photo of the RLB T2 in wear?

100 would of been great! The standard white ones something's even go over that and this one is an odd color but if there was green ones they would be mass produced which is odd as I haven't seen one. I'll ask someone else I know if they have seen one.

Here is what my friend had to say about the green state service.

I have never seen a green one in over 20 years of collecting. Not in person, not for sale, and in no period picture. They only came in yellow and white and are woven/BeVo. I have yet to see/handle a printed one that I thought was an original, period piece.
Sounds like to him it is rubbish but it would be very interesting if it was original. It could be late war if original and it seems anything went and regulation went out the window in the end.

This is a pre war jacket from the Baltics.. The armband is a common printed B&W 'In the Service of' band. On it is a Ukrainian foreign volunteer shield. Folded up and sewn on to band. The band is attached to sleeve with sewn on snaps that go around the back half of band..
Is it good[?] , the jacket is authentic,,the band is authentic, the shield is too.
Just a cool [to me] old thing that survived the flood and I still have.

Very interesting attachment! The armband style like this did exist so no problems there. They are a but more uncommon then the ones with the I looking like a J. Thanks for showing it! Just a different way of attaching it due to probably what was around at the time where it was needed.

My guess is possibly just the extra cloth they had around or something as even the ones that are the same color, the materials are different or cheaper in quality. I actually do have this one which I have been still continuing to research more. I have gotten a reply finally from the NOID (Netherlands version of the US National Archives) and here is what they told me: Born in Bremen on August 16, 1900. Was first commercially employed. In August 1932 he became a member of the Nazi Party, the Party in which he reached the rank of Oberbereichsleiter (circa early 1941). In the SS, he held the rank of Obersturmbannf�hrer, according to him, this was only an honorary rank. In the NSDAP he first played a role in the National Socialist Betriebszellen Organisation (the forerunner of the German Labor Front), in 1937 he was appointed Amtsleiter the Party Chancellery in Munich. From May 1940 to September 1944 he was employed by the State Commissioner as Leiter der Hauptabteilung Organisation of Generalkommissariat besonderen zur Verwendung, also Deputy General Commissioner. He mainly had to do with labor input, the Dutch Labour Front, social legislation, Winter Aid Netherlands and Dutch People Service. During the last winter of the war, he worked as an OT F�hrer in reinforcements to Elten. As far as he participation in the Dutch NSB DAF and RAD (NAF and NAD) he is some type of leader as his name has constantly popped up with leader next to his name and lots of documents on him in their archive. Before 1941's rank of Oberbereichsleiter he was a Hauptstellenleiter and I assume the Reich part is talking about the political level Reich? With the armband itself only 2 are known to me with the paper (both 2 which includes mine were from the same source) and 3 others are around without the paper. Any translation on the bottom words as google translate isn't clear. The paper states how he to not let anybody else use it and return it by thr 13th of September 1939. But Reichsparteitag 1939 never happened so he never wore the armband and all 5 would have been in storage somewhere where ever the veterans who brought back the 2 groups of them found them.   Photo of him. The caption says the middle man, but which one as there is 2 close to the middle... another armband is in the mail here but I won't post it until it arrives with my photos

The armband itself seems to be possibly silk?? Not rough in texture and the stripes are satin, very odd materials but very fancy! Materials make sense for the short term use

Here are my Norwegian Nasjonal Samling armbands (the NS was Norway's equivalent to the Nazi party in Germany).
The black one is for the adult members of the Hird, or party.
The green ones were for teh youth members.

I am sure taht someone out there will correct me if I am wrong, but the one without swords is for the youth group (NSUF Nasjoanl Samling Ungdoms Fylking) and the one with swords is for the little girls (Smahird) and male youths (Unghird).
I have shoulder patches for these groups as well.
The last one is for the Unghirdmarine, or sea youths (I guess we would call them Sea Scouts today).

Sorry, I wasn't clear. Yes, you are correct. The Norwegians had organizations similar to DJ (Guttehird) and HJ (Unghird) and the same for female groups: small girls (Smahird), youth women (Gjentehird) and adult women (Kvinnehird).

Yep. I had an urge for a Reichsbahn armband and this one popped up so it got ride of that one for a while haha. Lots of different Reichsbahn armbands around

Hi Kyle, I'm thinking about buying a yellow armband (Deutsche Wehrmacht) with the stamp still on it. Is $87 (shipping included) a fair price or can you find them cheaper. The letters are not stamped but machine woven. Danke!

Deutsche Wehrmacht for $87..???????????? Way overpriced. These are the most common of all TR armbands, and can be bought .even on nasty Ebay for like $25.00 .

Sorry for the later reply. The top price I would pay for one is $40, nothing more. There is thousands of these on the market just at this moment, and probably the most common armband as Mark says.

I have had one for sale for $20.00 for it seems forver, no luck.lol
I do not even bother buying any of these unless itis for $10.00 or so, lol,like 48 star USA flags, everyone has one or two, or a hundred!!

It seems to be very difficult to find one at a low price! The cheapest one I could find is priced at $36 but the seller is not replying my emails... checked evil bay as well but there's just a bunch of fakes for sale and one original for 65 GBP (I think that's about $120?)

They are on the front, but they were exposed to bad conditions. When I got them they were covered in mud, mold, spiderwebs, etc. So the ink bled or faded badly on them probably because of that. A shame but still nice bands overall for now. I'll have to put an updated picture of the collection the collections forum soon I think. As well as some of the other branches of stuff I went into as well

Well, here are 2 armbands I've been wanting for 30 years! I had a large item I liked but was too big to take care of. So, a big trade took place and I ended up with these. I am very happy and so is the other guy with what he got from me for sure!

Many of these were found mint unissued after the war because many never got issued. Supply problems, logistics etc. and some of us benefited from all that!

They are 'Flak Helpers' armbands. But labor/construction units wore them as well as other units.
These are rare and again I'm very happy to have them. And,,they are easy to store, take care of and make a display with..

Mike,,it took some heavy horse trading! He got a really nice piece for them. Glad he got it at least it was for his personal collection.
The armbands,,like I said, Always wanted them,,they are small, easy to take care of, easy to display, and easy to transport..
My last 2 dream items are ,,the 14th SS collar tab,,and arm shield. 2 tough to get and expensive pieces!

Well I now have my very first armband- so something to post at least! Going to go along with the beginnings of a volunteer display, largely foreign/eastern... And no I have never even owned a regular party armband or anything-- although the very first piece of tr I ever saw was a silk party armband my fathers uncle brought back from Europe- it was in bad shape and my dad asked me what I thought about it... And I said "it's awesome! Do u have one of those hats with a point too??" (He didn't...anyway here's the armband-

Those guys were basically predecessors of the Luftschutzpolizei, which were in charge of firefighting and rubble clearing in the major cities in case of air raids. They were replaced in 1942 when the organization couldn't keep up with their use and were merged with the Luftschutz.

There is a whole series of ranks, but the organization wasn't too large and didn't last long so anything higher up than the standard member armband is next to impossible to find, though there is a lot of period photos of them in wear for some reason. Here is the chart

Gotta add a few bands to here again.
Printed HJ armbands did exist, however they are early production run pieces. They were banned from use later on if I remember correctly. So the one you attached with a later stamp, inside even (usually is a bad sign, some exceptions however), wouldn't make sense to me.

I know, hard to tell when the stamp was added. Can't make it out either. This one has been sized down at some time in it's life then the threads removed. So it has the appearance of having been used. I'll continue to keep it on faith.
Who can say what or when an item was used or reissued? I've seen pictures of home guard wearing DJ buckles.
Looking forward to seeing what you have new.
