First, let me apologize for the lousy picture quality, but it's the best I've got for now...
Can anyone ID the long saber (middle of the group photo, just above the H�ller21). Has a rayskin wrapped handle similar to an English Model 1912 Cavalry, but a basket/guard more like British Royal Engineers (cutout,patterned...but no crests or cyphers).
The blade is immaculate ribbon/ladder pattern welded, marked with gold relief "DAMASCO". No other blade markings.
British..or something else??
And, of course, any value information will be appreciated. (I'm contemplating making an offer for the group, but this one piece has me stumped.)
