Hello everyone, I recently bought this police dress bayonet, complete with scabbard, frog and troddel. I would appreciate if people with more knowledge than me would take a look at the pictures and tell me if I bought something good and if you see anything wrong with it. The blade length is 245mm and according to Paul Kieslings Bayonets of the World this should be 250mm. Does this mean that it was shortened ? The overal length is correct. Here is the link.. http://www.militariaplaza.nl/equipment/5999-polizei-k98-dress-bayonetAny comments are much appreciated !

Well... you bought a standard KS98 Extra-Seitengewehr. It is not a Polizei bayonet although it does have a Police bayonet knot on it. It has not been shortened as it is an enlisted man's bayonet with the longer blade. NCOs of the Wehrmacht wore the shortened version of this bayonet.
