Here is a set of Army Hangers I recently acquired. My concern is the leather tops. They look totally new and I wonder if they are original and legitimate. Makes me wonder about the complete hanger set. Could anyone please tell me what your thoughts are on this? Thanks so much. Jerry

Generally the form of the leather tops do fit doubtless period ones I have seen. The color of the leather does vary so there is no rule. I would try the smell test, if it smells like leather I would tend to think it is a new made hanger. Because other features of the hanger (eg. the destroyed structure of the brocade, see the pics) I do not like and are commonly found on slobby new made hangers.
Just my thoughts.

Thank you for your helpful thoughts and information. I really appreciate it. Now to compare it to other known originals.
