As everyone knows Diplomat and Goverment daggers are just another of the great looking daggers!
Must be that mother of Pearl grips!
Lets see yours! And things used as display for them!
Would like to know your thought on them!
I have seen some where handle turned almost orange!
Bob Clark had that one!
Some times the patina on some are just plain nice!
I will start and add more later!
Thanks to all who have helped makesome good threads!

Here is my yellow gripped Gov dagger. I can assure you, that the grip did NOT darken from white to yellow. It was PRODUCED this way and has a special yellow layer which let the grip appear in this honey/amber tone (photographs does not do justice concerning the real tone).
My personal theory is that ALCOSO might have produced them (very small number) as their variant for an RMBO dagger contrary to EICKHORNs gold dagger with white grips but it is just an assumption, no confirmed theory.
Regards.

Additional: You can see the special yellow layer ONLY in disambled state of the dagger.

I have this early GO by Eickhorn (i.e., two side screws being earlier than the single reverse screw seen on thir later Gold GO/RMBO). It has never been apart so I wont mess with it. But the grip colour seen in hand appears integral, not age related. The hangers with gilt mounts are original to the dagger.

@ Barry Brown: Very interesting Gov dagger, never had heard of an EICKHORN with yellow grips. Nice!

Here is my EICKHORN Gov with parts of original frosted silvering. It did come with hangers (blueblack reverse) and "normal" size portepee but for the photos I had once decided to picture it without them.

Outstanding!
PVON, do you know who the crest on your sword scabbard belonged to? That is a great clue and tease to identify the original owner.
My rather well used Alcoso Government Official with correct accouterments.
