I have a long shot at a second pattern Luft dagger with a damascus blade. The owner says maker is "Scidecicus Solingen" I'm obviously not a German dagger collector. Can anyone help me out with the makers name? Thanks

I think you're looking for Fridericus, which is a known maker on damascus blades. And that pretty much sums up my knowledge on the topic Good luck, Tyrel

There are many reproductions out there and one must be very careful before putting big $$$ on the table. If it is indeed a Luft 2nd type by Fridericus, make sure that the tang is marked.

Pat can you giving me some quick pointers? What mark should I be looking for? I am the moderator on the Japanese boards & I don't collect anything German. I'd appreciate a value too. PM me if you can & it will be much appreciated.
