Well folks, never say " never again ". I said to myself that I would never collect any RZM dagger for my collection and I guess what ? I was wrong. I just bought this beauty last week from a friend of mine in Canada and it is nice. Though it is an RZM dagger, it has all of the early quality attributes that you would find on any early SS maker marked dagger. Scabbard still has its perfect original paint and is equipped with solid nikel fittings, crossguards are also solid nickel and so is the eagle's inlay. Aside from the scabbard not being anodised, everything else is made from early quality components. This is perhaps one of the nicest SS dagger that I've ever hold into my hands and would probably rate this baby as close to mint.
Thanks for watching
Forgot to also mention that as an added bonus, this dagger is pictured in Johnson reference book Volume V, page 14. In Johnson's book, it says that the scabbard is anodised but that was a mistake, it is actually painted.

Great pick up Pat..The early RZM types like this one still retains its craftmanship and desirability. Nothing wrong with the the "early" SS RZM types...JMO

Such condition could kill all the opponents. There is always a place for a beauty like that amongst my bunch of early, maker marked, patinated, mean looking black ones

Nice on Pat, congratulations.
To your question, I wonder if one could look to the SA daggers of that period for a similar trait(eagle, guards or grip size, throat to scabbard etc)?
