Hi Guys,
I need your help or suggestions, I'm after a specific rifle and have found several such rifles on some auction sites from the USA most of them in California.
I've never imported firearms from anywhere else than Austria so I'm a bit shallow with the knowledge here.
Do you know what the process looks like and what the cost of such an export is ?
Write your experiences please as any help and bit of information from a knowledgeable group like you guys would help me greatly to realize my search for that rifle.

(I hold both a collectors and sportsman permit in my country and if needed i can verify via PM/email both of these claims)

The only firearms I've shipped out of the states were antiques under U.S. law (made in or before 1898) and didn't present any problems on my end. I know there companies in the U.S. that will assist with single firearm imports and exports, but I'm not familiar with their costs.

Yep I've had no problems with those, this is a more modern rifle and is under the FFL registration so there is quite a procedure to get it overseas...
If you guys know of a Californian FFL licensed gun shop that does exports please do share your information with me, I was quoted 999$ by a company I'd rather not name here and I do believe that is a bit too much to give for rifle that is around 2000$ in nominal worth.
