Hey gang!

One of my pickers brought this guy in from the woodwork. Thoughts?

Looks great, original dagger. Can't comment on scabbard with these pictures. Check with Ross to see if he has found this number.

Ross,

Great news! I appreciate it. He wasn't 8th SS was he? I bought an 8th SS cuff title in the same group as this dagger.

Hi Lost Dutchman:

Looks like your SS-Untersturmführer No. 114 542 has a SS Officer File and a Race & Settlement File. This would be in addition to possible NSDAP membership file cards. What I have so far documents him to the 26. SS-Standarte. I will look at these files when I get to the Archives on my next trip.

In the mean time, some of you may also have interest in an English version of my "Introduction to Researching Numbered SS Daggers" first published in German in 2010 in Ralf Siegert's Die Dienstdolche der Schutzstaffel SS. The PDF file can be downloaded at:

http://www.ssdaggers.com/ResearchingSSDaggers.pdf

This will give you an introduction to the records used for SS research and their limitations.

Happy hunting!

Ross was able to get me a wealth of information and I am waiting on his printed work currently. I'm pretty excited to put the 2 together.

I got my primary owner documentation packet today and I'm very impressed. I'm going to try to get some more and better shots here soon.
