Nice grey ghost.The scabbard is pre 1940 production.

could the scabbart be old stock?

The bayonet is commerzial one, probably not from Hoerster, but certainly its not.

Your bayonet is very late in the 44 asw run and shortly before the changeover to 44 sgx, which occurred later in the "gg" block. Collector's term for the phosphate 44 asw's is "Grey Ghost".
The scabbard is not original to the bayonet and as Andy said, probably began life with a commercial or Police bayonet.

I mistakly wrote bayonet but means the unserialed scabbard.
