It appears to be made correctly with a colored wire insert instead of a felt one but it also looks brand new. Carefully pull the cords apart on the ball and see what color the thread is that is wrapped around the wooden core. It should be dull waste thread rather than new white thread and it should not light up with a black light.

Hello ORPO, thank you for looking and commenting.
Black light is abolutely negative. I have checked already all parts, even the cord (sometimes only the inner life of the cords tells the truth).
The photographs let the portepee look in a too friendly light, there are several wearing traces to be detected when you hold it in your hands. The pommel cap shows the common good traces where it once has touched the scabbard during wearing and the cord has slightest fraying where it was bound around the sharp edges of the/a crossguard. But it is overall in a nice condition.
Regards,

Yes, it is a Postschutz Officer Portepee with orange highlights.

Wotan,

As you know, the construction looks correct as also stated by some very respected members of the forum. My only concern, which in itself is not dispositive, is that the knot looks quite new. Looks good from here though, nice!
