this is the emblem for Jager Troops,essentially lightly armed infantry,,,most often worn on the left side of the bergmutze and other m-43 styled caps,..

ive only seen eidelweiss on the jager caps. not acorn leafs

It is a J�ger insignia for the Whermacht head gear, and not SS.

The edelweiss was worn by Gebergsjaeger, oakleaf by Jaeger. These are completely different unit formations.

Jaeger were light infantry. Gebergsjaeger were mountain light infantry.
