Hi I'd like to ask Your opinion on this piece. Unfortunetly I'm not an expert in this sort of weaponery (hunting I mean). I like this one but I do not want to get burnt. Please tell me if this is a legit period dagger ?

Need a good shot of the trade mark .Have you read Houston's guide to spotting fakes at the top of this forum?Do so and you can probably answer your question yourself I did when I was looking at a post war Eickhorn one

Hallo Gottlieb,der Forstdolch ist absolut original vor 1945.1932-1940.Er trägt den alten Hörster Stempel,ich bekam den gleichen von einem alten Forstbeamten.Das Portepee stammt nicht von diesem Dolch,es gehört zu einem Wehrmachtssäbel.Gruß,hornung

Yes this one is O.K, this particular Horster mark was used up to 1934/35. It's a nice forestry hirschfänger, the knot is not for a hirschfänger but could be original to the piece as many guys were allowed to use a knot from previous military service.
Here is my Deutsche Jägerschaft hirschfänger with the same mark.
