Hi I'd like to ask Your opinion on this piece. Unfortunetly I'm not an expert in this sort of weaponery (hunting I mean). I like this one but I do not want to get burnt. Please tell me if this is a legit period dagger ?

Gru,hornung

Yes this one is O.K, this particular Horster mark was used up to 1934/35. It's a nice forestry hirschfnger, the knot is not for a hirschfnger but could be original to the piece as many guys were allowed to use a knot from previous military service. Here is my Deutsche Jgerschaft hirschfnger with the same mark.
Very nice piece
Gary
