Thought it was time to start a thread on headgear and such
since its a slow period!

This forum used to have so many old collectors that shared large collections of goodies.

Many have left or are banned or not showing stuff!

Many threads were also lost in change over which is a shame!

I took many photos of nice stuff local collectors had and would share1

Feel free to add stuff! I sure miss the days when this site
had many collectors sharing!

I always liked headgear and waffenrocks! Police also!

Wish I knew where all those old collectors and collections
are now!

Keep watching thread for pics which I will post!

Here are a couple of circa 1935 headgear and uniforms of the Bavarian Landespolizei during the time when they were being absorbed into the Wehrmacht.

First is a LAPO Major with the corresponding Bavarian Polizei Officer Tschako. Second is a LAPO NCO serving as a Zugwachtmeister with the corresponding peaked cap.

Hello Folks!

I am trying to determining where this Uniform is coming from.

I am even just guessing WWII due to the Othala Rune on the Epaulette.

Help is appreciated!

Thank you & Greetings from Berlin, Germany

Question for you cap/hat guys. I have an SS officer visor with the eagle and "Deutsche Wertarbeit" celluloid sweat shield. From my research, the shield is authentic for the TR. A while back, someone posted that if a cap has a black beading or cording around the sweat band, visible where the band is sewn to the cap, that flags it as a repro. This cap has such a black cording. However, I have seen such visor caps, not all SS, represented to be authentic in at least one reference book with photos. I would appreciate hearing information on this. Thanks!

Thanks for the appreciative comments but I must confess that the photographs were not taken by me. My camera is not that great as I seem to spend all my spare cash on militaria & not on getting a decent camera laugh

Tunic arrived only a week ago & it has given me the biggest thrill I`ve had in a long time!

Naval stuff does not seem as collectable as other arms-of-service, but when you see a beautiful, historical tunic like that it makes one wonder why!

I don`t actually think it is a question of being less collectable but rather that they are not quite so abundant as the other services. Finding good Kriegsmarine tunics can be difficult and they are often on the expensive side. The caps are particulary so.
