I recently acquired this somewhat unusual pattern S98 pattern bayonet. It appears to exhibit a somewhat "art deco" influenced design. In size it approximates an issue S84/98 T3. There are numerous file & machine marks evident, so never received a final polish or finish. Grips are of wood and riveted in place. There is a T-slot @ the pommel, but no provision for a catch assembly. The blade is thinner near the crossguard but thickens ab about 30% thereafter. The scabbard, though patterned like that for the S84/98 T2, is slightly larger in nearly every dimension but length. Perhaps most curious is the small "house" logo on the bayonet's ricasso. I have gone thru several references by Anthony Carter, John Walter, and others but have not been able to tie this logo to any manufacturer listed. Your thoughts & opinions would be appreciated.
