Got from Bonhams auction house, built in 1740 for the British Museum, 36 numbered drawers with locks - lets me separate daggers by mcsarr listing and give me room the reference books and research

Looks like the perfect dagger cabinet to me. Do the outer doors lock?

The outer doors have 4 internal latches and four locks - provides reasonable security from the snatch and grab thief. The drawers are lined with green billard felt provided by an Irish master installer. I can separate the daggers by McSarr listing and by Rohms, partial Rohms and personalized SAs. I am sure that there are better ways for storing and displaykng collections, but it works for me.

Incredible condition!! IMO I cant think of a better way of displaying and protecting from the elements at the same time! Looks to be about 252 daggers to fit comfortably. Any overages that dont fit and need storage.....PM me!! wink grin Awesome Mike well done! Regards Larry smile

Very nice! Great way to store your daggers and easy to take them out whenever you like. The locks certainly are a bonus.

That is a fantastic cabinet!!! Beautiful craftsmanship and perfect for what your using it for. They sure don't make them like that anymore. Nice score.

Fantastic mahogany cabinet. Just beautiful. Perfect for dagger storage.
The British museum history behind it is great.

Just think- this quality mahogany from that period would have most likely come from British Hondures(now Belize), felled in the jungles and dragged overland to the coast by native volunteers (slaves). Shipped then by boat to England and there assembled by master craftsmen. Just could not happen anymore- I hope you paid the Irish installer well for his craft- MJM
