William, This is a dagger made with all generic fittings and a plaster or wood core grip. The hilt fittings are type "B" generic to be specific. The scabbard is a common generic type used by many makers. Sometimes you can tell the maker by the throat screw configuration on these scabbards...looks like this one has the flush mounted single rear screw? Am I right? (If I am)This is a trait used by F.W. Holler, late Alcoso and Horster pruducts along with a few others. This rather bright nickle finish is seen quite often with these fittings, and while it does look about like silver paint, I would say it is correct. Rather hard to say with any certainty who made this dagger, it does have the overall look of a late Anton Wingen Jr., but I cant remember what screw configuration they used on thier scabbards off the top of my head?..Kevin.
It's ALL in the DETAILS!!.......

wschmidt - awesome profile pic lol. "I see nothing!" - Documentary about the Great Escape talks about how POWs actually pick pocketed German guards wallets to copy documents, then would return them to the guard who would actually thank them (since they would have been punished in who knows what ways).

William, 100% correct as Kevin has described to you, super condition for such a late unit and nice snaps too! Hope you continue to find more nice daggers as to see more of your photographic skills. Best! Bill W.
