Congratulations, Stingray.
That is one maker mark that you just don't see on Navies.
And, the condition looks superb.
Well done, my friend.

Ivan,
I agree, the condition is superb but I would say the maker's rarity trumps even that. Really great looking dagger, something I'm sure you waited countless years for. Well done!

Ivan that's really interesting a nonplated blade on a Navy. Never seen that before. I learned something here today. Congrats again. BTW never trust a guy from Karnak!

What a great addition to your Pack collection, Ivan, congratulations!
Also, I am very happy to see that "double wired" grip. Exact the same as mine! Tom Whitmann writes in his book about a triple wired Pack grip... which I found very odd, I must say...
Your new Pack dagger has all the unique viewable Pack Kriegsmarine features! How about the runners in your hammered scabbard?
Best regards,
Herman

Thank you for the nice comments on my dagger, guys!
Hi Ivan,
Blade is polished and runners are metalic, all just the same like yours and very typical/unique for Pack.
Hey Tom,
If some of these Pack triple wire grips could be showed, that would be very interesting for the topic.
Best regards,
Herman

Hello Ivan, Thanks to you, I just found out about another typical Pack feature: the bal on my scabbard also has a number stamped in it... and I never noticed it in all those years! Best regards, Herman

Herman what number you got there? I have #18, DD Harris dagger is stamped with #29. The guy I bought from him my dagger, has one more Pack with #10.
Tom(WW2-Collector),can you show us your dagger?
Here is one more picture with #18 stamped on the release button.

Ivan Thank You - I believe what you see are possibly remnants of a previous cleaning? Not by myself of course. Although not evident in the pictures the grip has a glassy look to it.

Thank you for posting your Kriegsmarine Pack dagger, Tom, it is a beauty for sure and the triple grip wire is indeed very nicely applied, much better than the one shown in Wittmann's Navy book in my opinion.
The stamp on the ball of the scabbard of my dagger is a "10" or it could also be "40". Need to take an extra picture soon.
This is a very interesting topic!
Best regards,
Herman

Hello Tom, Aha, it is your dagger in the Wittmann book! That is a nice bonus for the day you want to sell Smart move! Well, the grip wire was done very professionaly! Personaly, I never remove any patina, but would remove these remains of cleaning product on your dagger: with a wooden toothpick and a dry soft teethbrush, all of it would be easely gone if you take the time to do it. Next picture shows the "10" on the ball of my dagger's scabbard. The blade is polished, not plated as show in the second picture. Best regards, Herman

Wow, I did know there was only a few of these out there :-)
Mine has # "16" on the ball and metal-scabbard-runners.
And it has polished blade and hammered scabbard.
What is the highest number known?
Best regards,
Henrik

Can we see some pictures of yours? Seems the lightning bolt variety may be rarer then the Hammered? Wow, I did know there was only a few of these out there :-)

That is another great Kriegsmarine dagger by Pack, Henrik! It has all the typical Pack features and... the double wired grip. Can I conclude that the triple wired grip is rather unusual or can we see some other examples with this characteristic ? When seeing this great topic, one might wonder if this dagger is really so rare... Best regards, Herman
