I needed a naval dagger to fit the empty spot in my collection and came across this Eickhorn. It came from the same Veteran as my recent police sword I had also posted. The lightning bolt scabbard is straight with no dings, and shows traces of gilding around the scabbard bands. The blade is near perfect with the fouled anchor etch and the late 1941 over the shoulder Eickhorn stamped makers mark, and also has the original brown buffer pad. The crossguard and pommel are also in very good condition, and the handle retains the tight wire wrap with no chips or cracks.

Rich,

Very nice Navy. I like it as well. I could be wrong but might it be a red felt discolored buffer pad? Thanks.

Nice conditioned late period EICKHORN navy in as usual quality, so with still the "normal" scabbard bands on brass scabbard (not the even later pressed out bands of a brass finished steel scabbard).

@ Mikee: EICKHORN navies usually have original brown (not faded red ones) washers, red ones are usually used by WKC.

Thanks for the confirmation. I'm glad I asked because it looked like it had a redish tint on the edges which is the reason I asked.
