I am going to start a thread on Marine corp stuff and will start in WW1 era or around then!

This forum lost so much in transfers that I wanted to start adding pics again for collectors to enjoy!

I have taken great pics of a local collectors hoard of goodies
a few yrs ago!

Those type of collectors are a joy to go vist and get them to share.
You all know the type and we have a couple friends who both
have houses over flowing with stuff that has not seen the light of day for 40 yrs!

They hoarded the stuff yrs ago!

But first is some Marine stuff pics taken at Cleveland Grays
show 2005.

The Grays are a story I will tell later and show!

If you like cannons old castle type rooms filled with goodies
you will like to vist it I would suggest you google it!

The Grays had a few shows in 2000's and collectors got a glimpse of a wonderful place!

A very rare marine jacket seldom seen!

I showed it a few yrs ago on another forum and they went nuts!

Just thinking how many collectors like this have hidden away so many treasures for long periods.

Back when going to a flea market really paid off back in 1960's
when just a regular guy prowled around with 40.00 and got a box!

These collectors never got rid of anything in 40 yrs and built huge collections 1 piece at a time!

This is not counting german stuff, japanese stuff etc!
They have it! If they would have had money back then I shudder to think what they would have gotten!

And his friend was the same! I was lucky to take pics of both collections!

They don't set up at shows and never have or did computer
when I went to see all this stuff!

I had an early Marine NCO sword by Horstmann I wished I have kept. The early Eagle,Globe ,and Anchor are tough to find just by themselves.

You wouldn't happen to have pics of a red DI pith helmet? One of my old Marine friends who was with the 3rd Marine Raiders and the 6th Marine Div (yes 6th Marine Div) said he had one.

Very excellent collections... I have a few visors, helmets, but nothing like these shown
I am now on USMC homefront stuff. Have a bunch of these pillows, got this from all places...Manions a few weeks ago. $9.00 and the condition is better than picture shown.. Although somewhat faded in front, it is richer than the pic . The back is a very beautiful USMC yellow. Nice and fluffy pillow.

Truth in advertising.."It may be better than the job you have"..we just won't mention that part of the job description entitles you to be present on a two way range at times!
