bought thie 1935 sd helmet today-from a vets kid. is it a gold toned army or a navy. thanks paul

That's a fine looking helmet you found. Early, heavy, in good condition, fairly good liner and with lots of nice, original finish left on it too. These direct/indirect vet-finds are getting tougher all the time. wink

thanks for the help. i have a navy in my collection and for the life of me i still can't tell the difference. for as long as i have been collecting you think i would know. ww11 thanks for the comments. i run an ad in the local paper and things are really slow and you have to pay the price people are mostly to smart to give this stuff away. paul

Yes this one is a slightly toned army. Sometimes it is very hard to tell so one must observe the details of the graphics.
