Looks like laser etching to me. Also, the grip plastic pattern around the diamond looks suspect to me, as the pattern follows the diamond edge exactly. let's see what others think....

I'm with the John on this one.
Plus the aluminum rivets are wrong and maker mark also should be different.
Here is Henckel real MM.

Regards

The artificial aging -recent rust spots on a minty blade- tells it all: a fabricated piece!

+ as the other seasoned collectors here said already: laser etching, no correct makersmark and the wrong rivets for the maker.

Best regards,

Herman

OK, the knife is post 1945. But what company made it I wonder? Appears to be a well made knife. Does the maker have to pay to use the henckles MM? Would someone be able to make a knife at home? Could the RZM mark be trademarked or patented? Some thoughts, Ian.

I doubt Henckels would license their name/logo for a nazi era knife.

I know there are many current reproductions, but I'm not sure where they are manufactured. Pakistan is making the current Reddick blades, but they are no where near as good as the old ones from Germany. Also, Eastern Europe is a source for many reproductions/fakes.
